CMS Set up
Setting up CMS only requires configuration and Teach-In. No expert knowledge is necessary. Anyone familiar with the process to be monitored can set up Condition Monitoring. Historical data is also not required.
The first step is to allocate measurement channels to reference groups, e.g. an individual bearing of a multi-bearing shaft. A reference group will normally have more than one channel allocated to it but there may be special cases for having single channel reference groups. However, processes seldom contain measurement channels which have no relationship to other channels. Examples of reference groups are channels with temperature measurements, channels with pressure readings or channels from an auxiliary unit. In the main, the user is free to organize reference groups as the application requires.
The second step is the establishment of a static operational state.
A fundamental aspect of ProfiSignal CMS is that long-term comparable values can only be obtained when there is an operational state for comparison. This state can be described as the static operational phase. The static operational phase is defined by conditions whereby a process has reached a working point, a rotation speed has been adjusted to its setpoint, etc.
Operational phases whereby a working point has not been reached or a rotation speed has not been adjusted to its setpoint is described as a dynamic operational phase. Dynamic operational phases are not taken into consideration. The establishment of a static operational phase is achieved by setting specific conditions, .e.g. a specific rotation range, a specific temperature range, a specific pressure range etc.
