Many new uses for ProfiSignal 2.0

Following the successful market launch in 2007 of ProfiSignal, Delphin Technology AG has now been supplying the new 2.0 version from the beginning of the year. ProfiSignal is the solution for measurement and automation systems especially for testing, experiments and process technology.

The new version includes enhancements to the Klicks automation language with a further extension of the principle of operations with objects. There is no need for the learning of abstract commands. After selecting the appropriate operations and objects, the program code is generated automatically.

There are also improvements to the trend (Yt) diagrams and characteristic curves with extended capabilities and simpler operation.

Delphin's vibration technology has now been fully integrated. This means that, for the first time, an automation and monitoring system is now available which combines both vibration and process technology into one consistent system.

ProfiSignal gives the user a real alternative for providing solutions using virtual instruments. Applications can be self-generated using Profisignal's development environment, or complete custom-made systems can be ordered through Delphin applications development.

TopMessage with GPS

TopMessage devices from Delphin Technology AG can now be used for GPS positioning data acquisition and recording as well as for measurement and process data.

This feature has been incorporated as a result of the increasing use of TopMessage devices in mobile applications.

Delphin Technology: TopMessage with GPS

It enables a range of applications such as mobile testing systems in vehicles, position tracking and vehicle monitoring. TopMessage with GPS will be especially useful in applications requiring data on position, speed and altitude via GPS as well as measurement values such as temperature, pressure, flow and revolutions from engine and other vehicle components.

TopMessage devices are centralised collection units for measurement data and are able to operate under extreme conditions without being dependent on fragile PC or laptop equipment. The GPS receiver is connected to the TopMessage device via a RS232 port and the measurement data is stored as virtual channels.

The TopMessages's 1GB storage capacity provides ample space for the recording of measurement data. Further functions include autarchic monitoring, online calculation and evaluation as well as data acquisition.

An Ethernet interface enables data to be transmitted to a PC for processing by Delphin's ProfiSignal software package for visualisation and other evaluation functions.

Delphin Technology: vibration measurement technology

Complete overhaul of Delphin's vibration measurement technology

The AMDT module from the TopMessage product range enables shaft or bearing vibrations to be monitored and analysed. The AMDT module is equipped with 8 parallel and synchronous analog inputs as well as several digital inputs and outputs. The module has undergone a complete overhaul with a number of new functions being included. The differential inputs are decoupled from each other by up to 100V. The anti-alias filter is now automatically matched to the sampling frequency. A built-in AC coupler still exists to suppress direct current from vibration signals and improve the resolution of alternate current. The voltage measurement range can now be set from a PC. Improvements have also been made to the reaction speeds of AMDT's analog and digital outputs. A quicker response is now possible when limit values are exceeded.

Measurement signals are visualised with the VibroLab software. As well as time signal trends, many other evaluation tools are available. The polar diagram is new which enables the visualisation of vibration phases and amplitudes. Many minor functions have been included to ease user operation, e.g. harmonized cursor and enhanced zoom functions.

ProfiSignal - a complete system

Delphin's ProfiSignal software is a completely new type of successor software to the well-known MHouse package. A complete software system is now available to users in test and process engineering, mechanical engineering and research and development.

ProfiSignal Basic provides users with problem-free and fast solutions to measurement data acquisition requirements. A new type of data service enables extremely fast processing of large quantities of data extending over long time periods.

ProfiSignal Klicks enables the easier setting up of testing procedures, the simpler visualisation of trials and the more effective control over processing procedures than has been possible. ProfiSignal Klicks requires no extensive learning.
It is a complete system and no specialist IT support is necessary. Program text is generated with mouse clicks. No more laborious searching for objects, attributes and methods. Everything is presented to the user on one plate.

ProfiSignal CMS (Condition-Monitoring-System), for crash avoidance and predictive maintenance, is hallmarked by its simplicity and is intended for users in plant and mechanical engineering.

Large data storage capability increases data security

Delphin's TopMessage devices are now available with a data storage capability of up to 1 GB. This development represents a milestone in data security. Measurement data can be acquired and stored on site at the plant and machinery. There is no need for an additional data server. This benefits applications concerning remote data transfer and decentralised measurement data acquisition. TopMessage is also ideal for the acquisition of production and laboratory measurement values as well as the analysis and monitoring of bearing and shaft vibrations.
Storage capabilities of 256, 512 or 1024 MB are available. The largest storage capability enables 128 million measurement values or 1.2 millionen FFT analyses to be recorded independently within the device. The storage capability is non-volatile and requires no power back-up.
TopMessage devices are equipped with an Ethernet interface and can easily be used within an intranet environment. Profibus DP is also an optional feature. Flexible I/O modules are available for practically any type of process signal and for the acquisition of vibration data. The analog inputs can be configured for current, voltage, thermocouple or RTD measurements. I/O modules with analog and digital outputs can be supplied for monitoring functions. TopMessage devices in table-top housings and using laboratory plugs are available for laboratory applications and are supplied under the name, TopLab.
MHouse software provides user friendly software for online and offline data analysis and the operation and monitoring of processes and trials.

Universal measurement data and control device

With its new universal testing device, Delphin Technology AG has produced a tool which makes easy work of the measurement and control of temperatures and AC/DC electrical values such as current, voltage, power and resistance.
Special features include galvanic isolation of channels and regulating and control options which enable simple automation of control and testing procedures. Signals are attached via laboratory or thermo connectors.
The devices are intended for use by manufacturers of electrical equipment and components such as cooling plants, domestic appliances, lighting etc. The product is supplied with easy to use software running under Windows operating systems. Integrated network ports and interfaces mean that measurement data can be viewed directly from a normal PC.
